Friday Facts (Saturday Edition)

Fun fact: It’s Saturday right now, and I post these on Fridays. Kind of dropped the ball on that one. Anyway, did you know that Antarctica is the only continent without a McDonald’s? Yep, here’s some more random and pointless facts you didn’t ask for.

The guy that created the Rubik’s Cube, Erno Rubik struggled to solve his own creation. It took him over a month to do it. Now kids on TikTok are doing it in less than five seconds.

The average snail has more than a thousand teeth. Seriously, look it up.

Cotton Candy was invented by a dentist. Somebody get the Twitter people on the case of this conspiracy to boost profits for “Big Dental.”

Did you know that you can see rainbows at night? Did you know there’s even a name for this? They are called moonbows (or Lunar Rainbows if you’re proper.) Dio would be so excited. (If you didn’t get that joke, it’s because I’m old.)

In 2006 a man in Australia listed the entire country of New Zealand on eBay. Biding began at one cent and climbed to $3000 before eBay pulled the listing.

The electric chair was invented by a dentist. That’s right, dentists again. Both a sugary treat you would find at the county fair and an innovative form of execution were invented by the same people that ask you if you brush and floss at least twice a day.

That one was weird enough for me. I’m going to go ahead and end there and see you next week with more weird facts.
